Held at Clapham Common in London, Freeze Festival can be described as a ‘one of a kind’ in many ways. Snowboarding, skiing, live music and 500 tonnes of snow make Freeze Festival into what is probably the most ‘seasonal’ festival in the UK! Between 27th November and 1st of December 2013 London got it’s first taste of snow, along with an alpine resort crossed with Glastonbury festival. With several bars, snowboarding competitions, live music performances and crazy stunts there was plentiful activity for everyone attending the event.
Festival sponsors Three UK along with hundreds of Freeze Festival goers even managed to set a new Guinness World Record for the most Christmas jumpers in the same place! Fans at the festival were also given a ‘random’ range of prizes at the festival such as Christmas jumpers (obviously) drinks tokens and even the new LG G2 smartphone.
All of the above is currently part of Three’s ‘Silly Stuff’ campaign (if you haven’t seen the tv advert yet, you can here ) which is what brings us to EventBeat’s involvement at Freeze.
EventBeat worked alongside Vision Nine HQ to provide a custom built Twitter Wall whereby festival goers could get their ‘Silly Stuff’ up on the big screen at the event by tweeting using #DancePonyDance. In what must be an EventBeat first, in front of the Twitter Wall there was a sleigh where there would be merry festivals fans having their ‘silly’ pictures taken and broadcasted up to the Twitter Wall.
